Opportunities Open for Event Sponsorships and Volunteers to Judge
Westport, CT, July 21, 2009 – The 10th Annual Southern Connecticut Invitational Science & Engineering Fair (SCISEF) will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich. SCISEF, sponsored by the Southern Connecticut Science & Engineering Foundation (CTSTEM), is open to high school students from across the region.
Students from Darien, Greenwich, Westport, Wilton and Woodbridge participated in this year’s SCISEF. “SCISEF has become a major showcase for the creative and talented high school students of Southern Connecticut,” said William M. Foster II, CTSTEM President. “We’ve grown from eight students and 10 judges in 2001 to 136 students and 107 judges at this year’s SCISEF. It will be exciting to see what the tenth SCISEF will bring.”
The date for next year’s SCISEF is being set now to give students ample time to plan their projects and schedules. And, this will be the first time the event will be held away from Staples High School in Westport. “As SCISEF expands, it makes sense for us to move SCISEF to different locations in our region,” added Mr. Foster. “In addition, we hope to engage even more judges – the students rely on our local experts to provide encouragement and feedback.”
